Importing and Exporting Index Fields

This page describes how to import and export index fields in Ephesoft Transact. These steps are intended for Transact Administrators.

Introduction

Importing index fields keeps all configurations and test extraction files from the original index field. This can be helpful for the following use cases:

  • When adding a common index field to a document type.
  • When migrating Transact environments.
  • When testing and debugging index fields in a test environment.

Exporting Index Fields

This section describes how to export index fields. Exported index fields are saved as a ZIP file containing the complete index field hierarchy (figure 1) and its configurations.

To export an index field, perform the following steps:

  1. From the Batch Class Management screen, select and open your batch class.
  2. Go to Document Types > <your document type> > Index Fields.

To import and index field, perform the following steps:

  1. From the Batch Class Management screen, select and open your batch class.
  2. Go to Document Types > <your document type> > Index Fields.

Note: If the imported index field has the same name as an existing index field, you will be asked to import a copy (duplicate the existing index field) or override the existing document type.
