Certain users have reported issues with Ephesoft VM installations where an in-place upgrade is successful, however, the Ephesoft Transact service is not able to start. Reinstalling the Ephesoft services does not resolve the issue. There are no relevant errors in the Ephesoft installation log.

For this issue, please take a look at the ephesoft.enterprise-stdout log (found in \Ephesoft\JavaAppServer\logs). You may see the following:

This is due to how Java allocates memory on Windows. The best solution is to increase the amount of available memory on the virtual machine and re-test. Increasing the memory should resolve the issue.
