Kodak and Fujitsu Scanner Printing Limitation with Imprinter

Applies to: All versions of Transact.

Issue

When using Kodak (model no. i3450) and Fujitsu [model no. fi -7160 (f i-718PR)] scanners, the imprinter will print no characters or a limited number of characters on physical paper. This issue occurs when users attempt to imprint a large text string and the issue is not related to Ephesoft Transact.

Kodak scanners and imprinters will not print any text on physical paper if the length of the string exceeds what the imprinter can print.

Fujitsu scanners and imprinters will print a partial 36-character text string on physical paper if the length of the string exceeds what the imprinter can print.

Note: There may be other scanners with the same limitation. Only the above two models were verified and tested.

Workaround

The imprinter string can be controlled by the user. If a user shortens the length of the string that they are trying to imprint, the imprinter will print it on the physical paper.
Note: Refer to the Imprint Feature for Web Scanner document for imprinter string settings in Transact.
