(https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/windows-installation-win7-32)Issues with MS SQL Server 2008 \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/installing-ephesoft-transact-v-4-5-0-0-on-windows-server-2012r2-windows-8-and-higher\">Link<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Configuring the Named Instance for Microsoft\u00ae SQL Server Prior to Installing Transact 2019.1<\/h1>\n<h2>Introduction<\/h2>\n<p>Prior to installing Transact 2019.1, it is necessary to set up the named instance, and then configure related settings.<br \/>\nThis article describes how to set up named instances on Microsoft\u00ae Server.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>First, follow the steps in this document to create the named instance:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/kb0021050-how-to-install-ephesoft-with-mssql-named-instance-through-installer\">https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/kb0021050-how-to-install-ephesoft-with-mssql-named-instance-through-installer<\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0The wiki article above states that you should use the server name of &lt;&lt;SERVERNAME&gt;&gt;\\&lt;&lt;NAMED_INSTANCE&gt;&gt;, when defining the server name during installation. The system will prompt you to provide the remote MS SQL Server details during this step. Only previous versions of Transact require the server name, with this convention. Ephesoft installer Service Packages, such as 3.1.2.0, are all inclusive; there is no need to install 3.1.0.0 beforehand. After installation is complete, please check our\u00a0<a class=\"external text\" title=\"Updates and Downloads \u2013 Ephesoft v3.1.0.1 for v3.1.0.0\" href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/download\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-title=\"Updates and Downloads \u2013 Ephesoft v3.1.0.1 for v3.1.0.0\">Downloads and Updates<\/a>\u00a0page for cumulative updates between Service Pack versions that may be available.<\/p>\n<p><b>Windows Compatibility<\/b><\/p>\n<p>(V3.1 and above) \u2013 Compatible with all certified Windows versions up to Windows Server 2012 R2.<\/p>\n<p>(Up to V3.0.3.4 SP2) \u2013 Compatible with all certified Windows versions up to Windows 8.0 and Windows Server 2012.<\/p>\n<p><i><b>Note:<\/b>\u00a0If you are attempting to install Ephesoft in order to add another server to your environment (Multi-Server) Please refer to the following Article:\u00a0<a title=\"Scale Multi Server\" href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/scale-multi-server\">How to create a Multi-Server Environment with Ephesoft?<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Steps to be followed in order to properly run the Ephesoft Installer:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1. Ephesoft Transact has to be installed before any higher version of Visual Studio if needed.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>7.
