This service pack was created shortly after the initial launch of 2019.2 and addresses issues that were raised by customers through support.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"#post-34945-_License_and_Launch\">License and Launch Ephesoft Transact 2019.2<\/a><\/td>\n<td>Perform these steps to complete the upgrade for Ephesoft Transact 2019.2.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h2><a id=\"post-34945-_Prerequisites\"><\/a><a id=\"post-34945-_Toc21422958\"><\/a>Prerequisites<\/h2>\n<p><a id=\"post-34945-_Hlk21335910\"><\/a> Perform these steps for a successful software upgrade and startup:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Verify that the existing installation of Ephesoft Transact is supported for upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2019.2.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If the system is currently running Ephesoft Transact versions 4.1.1.0\u20132019.1, the upgrade Install Wizard supports direct upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2019.2.<\/li>\n<li>If the system is currently running a release prior to Ephesoft Transact 4.1.1.0, you must first upgrade to version 4.1.1.0 before upgrading to Ephesoft Transact 2019.2.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> If you must perform an intermediate upgrade before upgrading to Ephesoft Transact 2019.2, then you must start the Ephesoft Transact 4.1.1.0 service at least once after upgrading to version 4.1.1.0. This step is required to complete the intermediate upgrade process. If you do not start the service during the intermediate upgrade, and then attempt to upgrade to version 2019.2, the upgrade process will not be successful.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Verify that Ephesoft Transact 2019.2 is supported on your operating system. Refer to the following resources for additional information: <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/2019-2\/installing-upgrading\/system-requirements\/platform-integration\/\">Ephesoft Transact 2019.2 \u2014 Platform Configuration and Third-Party Integrations<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Use the document cited above to confirm and verify that your database version is supported.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> If upgrading to Ephesoft Transact 2019.2 with an existing MariaDB or MySQL database, refer to the following document before proceeding any further with this upgrade: <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/2019-2\/installing-upgrading\/system-requirements\/databases\/install-migrate-mariadb-mysql\/\">Install and Migrate MariaDB or MySQL for Windows<\/a><\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>Determine if you need to perform a single-server or multi-server upgrade.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> Steps unique to a multi-server environment upgrade are identified accordingly throughout this document.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"post-34945-_Toc7509831\"><\/a><a id=\"post-34945-_Toc21422959\"><\/a>User Instructions<\/h2>\n<h3><a id=\"post-34945-_Prepare_the_Server\"><\/a><a id=\"post-34945-_Toc21341997\"><\/a><a id=\"post-34945-_Toc21422960\"><\/a>Prepare the Server for Upgrade<\/h3>\n<p><a id=\"post-34945-_Hlk21337124\"><\/a> Perform these steps to prepare the server for an upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2019.2:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Stop Ephesoft Transact, whether running as an application or service.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">a. If you are running Ephesoft Transact as an application, close the Command Prompt in which Ephesoft Transact is running. Open the Windows Task Manager and use the End Task command to terminate the following two processes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>soffice.exe<\/li>\n<li>soffice.bin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">b. To stop Ephesoft Transact when running as a service, perform these steps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>In the Windows Control Panel, browse to <strong>Services | Desktop App<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Right click the <strong>Services<\/strong> utility and run as administrator. The <strong>Services (Local) <\/strong>screen displays. Scroll down to <strong>EphesoftTransact<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-34947 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/word-image.png\" width=\"664\" height=\"229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/word-image.png 869w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/word-image-300x104.png 300w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/word-image-768x265.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 664px) 100vw, 664px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Figure 1: Sample Illustration of the Windows <strong>Services<\/strong> Utility<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If the <strong>EphesoftTransact<\/strong> service is running, right-click <strong>EphesoftTransact<\/strong>, and click <strong>Stop<\/strong>. The service stops.<\/li>\n<li>Close the Windows Service Control utility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Close all open files inside the existing Ephesoft installation directory.<\/li>\n<li><a id=\"post-34945-_Hlk20309022\"><\/a> Ensure that the target Windows installation drive has sufficient space for extraction of the installer setup file and the backup files that the installer will create. Depending on the size of the existing Ephesoft Transact instance, you may require up to 8GB of space.<\/li>\n<li><a id=\"post-34945-_2._Launch_the\"><\/a> Log onto the Windows system and disable (turn off) the user access control (UAC).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> This is a temporary setting, and you may re-enable UAC after completing the installation later in this document.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>From the Windows <strong>Start<\/strong> menu, browse to the <strong>User Access Control<\/strong> or <strong>UAC<\/strong>. The Windows Control Panel displays the link. The system prompts the user to confirm this setting.<br \/>\nb. Accept the changes.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>Disable the IPv6 network protocol on this server. This control is available in the Windows network settings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">a. Select Control Panel &gt; Network and Internet &gt; Ethernet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">b. From the <strong>Ethernet<\/strong> screen, click <strong>Change adapter options<\/strong>. This is a zipped file with the following filename: <strong>WINDOWS_Ephesoft_Transact_2019.2_xxx<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Note: <\/strong>The <strong>xxx<\/strong> is an Ephesoft build number that is subject to change.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Extract all contents of the zip file to a temporary location.
