There was no option to edit their content. If the user wanted to introduce any changes, he had to go back to the Ephesoft Transact server and modify the backend files.<\/p>\n<p>In Ephesoft Transact v.4.5.0.0, you can edit the properties and .txt files directly from the Folder Management interface. For that, a new button called \u201c<strong>Edit<\/strong>\u201d has been added to the menu of the Folder Management screen. The button becomes enabled upon selection of properties file or .txt file, otherwise it is disabled. You can open the properties\/txt file by clicking <strong>Edit<\/strong>, by double clicking the properties\/txt file, or by right clicking on it and selecting <strong>Open<\/strong>. If a property has a comment associated with it, the corresponding row with the key-value pair will contain the information icon (<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"21\" height=\"19\" class=\"wp-image-15046\" src=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/word-image-57.png\" \/>). Changes are not yet saved.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Delete<\/strong>: Deletes all the rows where checkboxes are selected. On saving the properties file, a backup is created at the same path.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you navigate from the page without saving the changes, the following confirmation message will be displayed: <strong>\u201cThere are unsaved changes in grid. Do you want to discard the changes?\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15050\" style=\"border: 2px solid #A9A9A9;padding: 1px;margin: 2px\" src=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/c-users-ephesoft-appdata-local-microsoft-windows-1-44.png\" alt=\"C:UsersEphesoftAppDataLocalMicrosoftWindowsINetCacheContent.Word4.png\" width=\"417\" height=\"128\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/c-users-ephesoft-appdata-local-microsoft-windows-1-44.png 559w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/c-users-ephesoft-appdata-local-microsoft-windows-1-44-300x92.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 417px) 100vw, 417px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you click <strong>OK<\/strong>, you will be redirected to the requested page and all the changes will be discarded. If you click <strong>Cancel<\/strong>, you will return to your <strong>Edit<\/strong> page where you can save the changes before moving on to the next screen.<\/p>\n<p>If the same file is edited by different users either in a single server or multi server environment, the file will be locked. The first user will be able to edit the file while the other user will be blocked. Every time the user tries to open the file, which is already being edited by someone else, the following error message will be displayed: \u201cFailed to perform this operation. The file is locked for editing\u201d.
