Complete all settings and dialogs as prompted.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"246\"><a href=\"#service-pack-installation\">Service Pack Installation<\/a><\/td>\n<td width=\"474\">This service pack must be installed immediately after completing the upgrade process.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr bgcolor=\"#d9e2f3\">\n<td width=\"246\"><a href=\"#post-43513-_License_and_Launch\">License and Launch Ephesoft Transact 2020.1<\/a><\/td>\n<td width=\"474\">Perform these steps to complete the upgrade for Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h2><a id=\"post-43513-_Prerequisites\"><\/a><a id=\"post-43513-_Toc31274058\"><\/a>Prerequisites<\/h2>\n<p><a id=\"post-43513-_Hlk21335910\"><\/a> Perform these steps for a successful software upgrade and startup:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Determine if you need to perform a single-server or multi-server upgrade.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> Steps unique to a multi-server environment upgrade are identified where applicable throughout this document. Follow the instructions and adjust as necessary if upgrading on a multi-server environment.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Verify that the existing installation of Ephesoft Transact is supported for direct upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If the system is currently running Ephesoft Transact version 4.5.0.0 or above, your system is supported for direct upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.<\/li>\n<li>If the system is currently running a release prior to Ephesoft Transact 4.5.0.0, you will need to upgrade to version 4.5.0.0 before upgrading to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> If you are required to perform an intermediate upgrade, then you must launch the Ephesoft Transact 4.5.0.0 service before upgrading to version 2020.1 or the upgrade process will fail.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If you are required to perform an intermediate upgrade, you will need a new license for Ephesoft Transact 4.5.0.0.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/install-and-upgrade\/2020-1\/platform-configuration-and-third-party-integrations-transact-2020-1\/\/\">Platform Configuration and Third-Party Integrations 2020.1<\/a> and verify that Ephesoft Transact 2020.1 is supported on your operating system.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> If you are upgrading to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1 with an existing Ephesoft installed version of MariaDB or MySQL database engine, refer to the following document before proceeding any further with this upgrade: <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/install-and-upgrade\/2019-2\/added-resources-2019-2\/installing-on-windows\/install-migrate-mariadb-mysql\/\">Install and Migrate MariaDB or MySQL for Windows<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"post-43513-_Toc7509831\"><\/a><a id=\"post-43513-_Toc31274059\"><\/a>User Instructions<\/h2>\n<h3><a id=\"post-43513-_Prepare_the_Server\"><\/a><a id=\"post-43513-_Toc21341997\"><\/a><a id=\"post-43513-_Toc31274060\"><\/a>Prepare the Server for Upgrade<\/h3>\n<p><a id=\"post-43513-_Hlk21337124\"><\/a> Perform these steps to prepare the server for an upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1:<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><a id=\"post-43513-_Hlk21337202\"><\/a>Stop Ephesoft Transact, whether running as an application or service:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">a. To stop Ephesoft Transact when running as an application, close the Java Console in which Ephesoft Transact is running (as shown in the screenshot below) with <strong>CTRL + C<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-43514\" src=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/word-image-134.png\" width=\"759\" height=\"312\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/word-image-134.png 978w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/word-image-134-300x123.png 300w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/word-image-134-768x316.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 759px) 100vw, 759px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Figure 1. To stop Ephesoft Transact when running as a service, perform these steps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>In the Windows Control Panel, browse to <strong>Services | Desktop App<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click the <strong>Services<\/strong> utility and run as administrator. The <strong>Services (Local) <\/strong>screen displays. The service stops.<\/li>\n<li>Close the Windows Service Control utility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>Close all open files inside the existing Ephesoft installation directory.<\/li>\n<li><a id=\"post-43513-_Hlk20309022\"><\/a> Ensure that the target Windows installation drive has enough space for extraction of the installer setup file and the backup files that the installer will create. Depending on the size of the existing Ephesoft Transact instance, you may require up to 8GB of space.<\/li>\n<li><a id=\"post-43513-_2._Launch_the\"><\/a> Log onto the Windows system and set the User Access Control (UAC) to <strong>Never notify<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> This is a temporary setting, and you must re-enable UAC after completing the installation later in this document.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>From the Windows <strong>Start<\/strong> menu, browse to the <strong>User Access Control<\/strong> or <strong>UAC<\/strong>. The Windows Control Panel displays the link. The system prompts the user to confirm this setting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px\">b. Accept the changes.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li>Disable the IPv6 network protocol on this server. This control is available in the Windows network settings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px\">a. Select <strong>Control Panel<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Network<\/strong> <strong>and<\/strong> <strong>Internet<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Ethernet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px\">b. From the <strong>Ethernet<\/strong> screen, click <strong>Change adapter options<\/strong>. Close the <strong>Windows Control Panel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li>If you previously installed Ephesoft Transact using a Windows service account and you want to use that same account after the upgrade, ensure you know that account&#8217;s credentials (username and password) before starting the upgrade procedure.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You are now ready to obtain and launch the Install Wizard.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"post-43513-_3._Launch_the\"><\/a><a id=\"post-43513-_Obtain_and_Launch\"><\/a><a id=\"post-43513-_Toc31274061\"><\/a>Obtain and Launch the Install Wizard Package<\/h3>\n<p>Perform these steps to download and launch the Ephesoft Transact Install Wizard:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Contact Ephesoft for access to the Install Wizard package.<\/li>\n<li>Download the Ephesoft Transact 2020.1 Install Wizard as instructed by Ephesoft. This is a zipped file with the following filename: <strong>WINDOWS_Ephesoft_Transact_2020.1_1316.zip<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Note: <\/strong>The last four digits are an Ephesoft build number that is subject to change.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Extract all contents of the zip file to a temporary location. This service pack must be installed immediately after completing the install process.<\/p>\n<p>Perform the following steps to install the 2020.1.01 service pack for Ephesoft Transact.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: Steps listed as &#8220;CHE only&#8221; are mandatory for Cloud HyperExtender users.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Stop the Ephesoft Transact service on all nodes.<\/li>\n<li>Download and extract the <strong>Linux_ServicePack_2020.<\/strong><strong>1.01.zip<\/strong> folder to a temporary location.<\/li>\n<li>Open shell with the root user.<\/li>\n<li>Go to the [<em>Ephesoft_Home<\/em>]\/Application\/WEB-INF\/lib\/HOT-FIXES directory.<\/li>\n<li>If the <strong>gxt-core-0.0.15-SNAPSHOT.jar <\/strong>file already exists:\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Create a backup folder in the <strong>HOT-FIXES <\/strong>folder (step 4) named <strong>Backup_2020.<\/strong><strong>1.01<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Copy the existing .jar file to the <strong>Backup_2020.<\/strong><strong>1.01 <\/strong>folder.<\/li>\n<li>Delete the old .jar file.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>If you did not already have the <strong>gxt-core-0.0.15-SNAPSHOT.jar <\/strong>file:\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Copy the new .jar file (included in the .zip file) from the temporary location to the <strong>HOT-FIXES <\/strong>folder (step 4).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: If you do not use the Cloud HyperExtender plugin, proceed to step 12.<\/p>\n<h3>CHE Only Steps<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Note:\u00a0<\/strong>Steps 7-11 are CHE only.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li>Create a backup folder named <strong>CHE_Backup_2020.<\/strong><strong>1.01 <\/strong>outside of the [<em>Ephesoft_Home<\/em>] directory.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to the [<em>Ephesoft_Home<\/em>]\/Application\/WEB-INF\/classes\/META-INF\/cloud-plugin\/ directory and save a copy of the <strong>cloud-plugin.properties<\/strong> file to the new <strong>CHE_Backup_2020.<\/strong><strong>1.01<\/strong> folder.<\/li>\n<li>Open the <strong>cloud-plugin.properties <\/strong>file and replace the <strong>cloud.<\/strong><strong>registration.url <\/strong>value with one of the following:\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>For a US Transact instance, replace with &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/transact.us.ephesoftcloud.com\/#\/register?multiCountry=true\">https:\/\/transact.us.ephesoftcloud.com\/#\/register?multiCountry=true<\/a>&#8220;<\/li>\n<li>For a Frankfurt Transact instance, replace with &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/transact.de.ephesoftcloud.com\/#\/register?multiCountry=true\">https:\/\/transact.de.ephesoftcloud.com\/#\/register?multiCountry=true<\/a>&#8220;<\/li>\n<li>For a Singapore Transact instance, replace with &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/transact.sg.ephesoftcloud.com\/#\/register?multiCountry=true\">https:\/\/transact.sg.ephesoftcloud.com\/#\/register?multiCountry=true<\/a>&#8220;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Deploy the <strong>ephesoft-cloud-client\u00a0<\/strong>application.\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Save a backup of the existing [<em>Ephesoft_Home<\/em>]\/JavaAppServer\/webapps\/ephesoft-cloud-client directory to the <strong>1.01<\/strong> folder.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the existing [<em>Ephesoft_Home<\/em>]\/JavaAppServer\/webapps\/ephesoft-cloud-client directory and its contents.<\/li>\n<li>Copy the new <strong>ephesoft-cloud-client<\/strong> folder from the temporary location (step 2) and save its contents to the [<em>Ephesoft_Home<\/em>]\/JavaAppServer\/webapps\/ directory.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to the [<em>Ephesoft_Home<\/em>]\/JavaAppServer\/webapps\/ephesoft-cloud-client\/WEB-INF\/classes\/ directory and open the <strong>application.<\/strong><strong>properties <\/strong>file.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>application.<\/strong><strong>properties<\/strong> file, search for the <strong>cloud.notification.transact-hybrid-url<\/strong> property. Replace the following variables with their respective values:\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>@@HTTPORHTTPS@@ &#8211; Replace this variable with either &#8220;http&#8221; or &#8220;https&#8221; as per your server configuration.<\/li>\n<li>@@SERVER_ALIAS@@ &#8211; Replace this variable with your server hostname.<\/li>\n<li>@@PIV_OR_FORM_PORT@@ &#8211; Replace this variable with your web server port number (default is 8080).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>11. Deploy <strong>cloud-ui<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Save a backup of the existing [<em>Ephesoft_Home<\/em>]\/JavaAppServer\/webapps\/cloud-ui directory to the <strong>CHE_Backup_2020.<\/strong><strong>1.01<\/strong> folder.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the existing [<em>Ephesoft_Home<\/em>]\/JavaAppServer\/webapps\/cloud-ui directory and its contents.<\/li>\n<li>Copy the new <strong>cloud-ui<\/strong> folder from the temporary location (step 2) to the [<em>Ephesoft_Home<\/em>]\/JavaAppServer\/webapps\/ directory.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"12\">\n<li>Start the Ephesoft Transact server.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: These changes must be made on all servers (UI and Processing) in a cluster. Ephesoft recommends performing thorough testing of Ephesoft Transact after deploying the service pack.<\/p>\n<p>You have successfully installed the 2020.1.01 Service Pack. If any issues occur, refer to <a href=\"#_Rollback_Steps\">Rollback Steps<\/a> to revert the deployment. Otherwise, proceed to <a href=\"#_License_and_Launch\">License and Launch Ephesoft Transact 2020.1<\/a> to complete the installation process.<\/p>\n<h3>Rollback Steps<\/h3>\n<p>If any issues occur with this service pack, follow the steps below to roll back this installation:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Stop the Ephesoft Transact service on all nodes.<\/li>\n<li>Open shell with the root user.<\/li>\n<li>Go to the [<em>Ephesoft_Home<\/em>]\/Application\/WEB-INF\/lib\/HOT-FIXES directory.<\/li>\n<li>Delete the following file: <strong>gtx-core-0.0.15-SNAPSHOT.jar<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Open the <strong>Backup_2020.<\/strong><strong>1.01 <\/strong>folder located inside the <strong>HOT-FIXES <\/strong>folder.\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Copy the existing .jar file from the <strong>Backup_2020.<\/strong><strong>1.01 <\/strong>folder to the <strong>HOT-FIXES <\/strong>folder.<\/li>\n<li>Delete the <strong>Backup_2020.<\/strong><strong>1.01 <\/strong>folder.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: Steps 6-10 and 12 are CHE only.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li>Restore the backup of the <strong>cloud-plugin.properties <\/strong>file from the <strong>CHE_Backup_2020.<\/strong><strong>1.01 <\/strong>folder to its original location (step 8 above).<\/li>\n<li>Remove the existing [<em>Ephesoft_Home<\/em>]\/JavaAppServer\/webapps\/ephesoft-cloud-client directory and its contents.<\/li>\n<li>Restore the backup of the ephesoft-cloud-client directory and its contents (step 10a above) inside [<em>Ephesoft_Home<\/em>]\/JavaAppServer\/webapps\/.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the existing [<em>Ephesoft_Home<\/em>]\/JavaAppServer\/webapps\/cloud-ui directory and its contents.<\/li>\n<li>Restore the backup of the cloud-ui-directory and its contents (step 11a above) inside [<em>Ephesoft_Home<\/em>]\/JavaAppServer\/webbapps\/.<\/li>\n<li>Start the Ephesoft Transact server.<\/li>\n<li>If the Ephesoft Transact server starts successfully, delete the <strong>CHE_Backup_2020.<\/strong><strong>1.01<\/strong> folder.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You have successfully rolled back the 2020.1.01 Service Pack.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"post-43513-_License_and_Launch\"><\/a><a id=\"post-43513-_Service_Pack_Installation\"><\/a><a id=\"post-43513-_License_and_Launch_1\"><\/a><a id=\"post-43513-_Toc3452039\"><\/a><a id=\"post-43513-_Toc15988742\"><\/a><a id=\"post-43513-_Toc21342000\"><\/a><a id=\"post-43513-_Toc31274065\"><\/a>License and Launch Ephesoft Transact 2020.1<\/h2>\n<p><a id=\"post-43513-_Hlk20404248\"><\/a> To complete the upgrade, refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/install-and-upgrade\/system-requirements\/licensing\">Licensing Requirements<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important<\/strong>: Ephesoft recommends restarting the service after your license registry is updated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">a. Compare the post-upgrade properties files against the pre-upgrade properties files. You must match the configuration settings of the post-upgrade property files to the pre-upgrade property files.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: Prior to installing the upgrade, the upgrade Install Wizard creates a backup folder to store the pre-upgrade configuration settings and components.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Use the <a href=\"https:\/\/winmerge.org\/?lang=en\">Winmerge<\/a> tool to compare and merge the pre-upgrade configurations into the post-upgrade configurations. Original configuration files are backed up on same server. You can navigate to the Ephesoft Install Directory and find the backup folder of your previously installed version of Ephesoft Transact to get access to your old configurations, files, and settings. Properties, files settings, or components that are unique to each deployment can include the following:\n<ul>\n<li>Computer names<\/li>\n<li>Database paths<\/li>\n<li>HTTPS settings (as applicable)<\/li>\n<li>ImageMagick settings (as applicable)<\/li>\n<li>JavaAppServer settings<\/li>\n<li>Keystore location settings<\/li>\n<li>Registry settings<\/li>\n<li>Single Sign-On (SSO) configurations<\/li>\n<li>User connectivity settings for Active Directory, Apache Tomcat, or LDAP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px\">Refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/what-are-the-folders-where-customer-specific-data-is-stored\/\">Folders where Customer-specific Data is Stored<\/a> for additional information.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">b. If you are required to perform an intermediate upgrade to 4.5.0.0, your previously installed license will not work on 4.5.0.0. You will need a new license for Ephesoft Transact 4.5.0.0 in order to successfully launch Ephesoft Transact.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"23\">\n<li>Start the Ephesoft Transact service from the Windows Services interface.
