Complete all settings and dialogs as prompted.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"#post-46151-_heading=h.49x2ik5\">License and Launch Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.02<\/a><\/td>\n<td>Perform these steps to complete the upgrade for Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.02.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h2><a id=\"post-46151-_heading=h.2et92p0\"><\/a>Prerequisites<\/h2>\n<p><a id=\"post-46151-_heading=h.tyjcwt\"><\/a> Perform these steps for a successful software upgrade and startup:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Determine if you need to perform a single-server or multi-server upgrade.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> Steps unique to a multi-server environment upgrade are identified where applicable throughout this document. Follow the instructions and adjust as necessary if upgrading on a multi-server environment.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Verify that the existing installation of Ephesoft Transact is supported for a direct upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.02.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If the system is currently running Ephesoft Transact version 2020.1 or 2020.1.01, your system is supported for a direct upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.02.<\/li>\n<li>If the system is currently running a release prior to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1, you will need to upgrade to version 2020.1 before upgrading to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.02.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> If you are required to perform an intermediate upgrade, then you must successfully start Ephesoft Transact 2020.1 before upgrading to version 2020.1.02 or the upgrade process will fail.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/install-and-upgrade\/system-requirements\/platform-configurations-and-third-party-integrations\/\">Platform Configurations and Third-Party Integrations<\/a> and verify that Ephesoft Transact 2020.1 is supported on your operating system. Version 2020.1.02 has the same requirements as 2020.1.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><a id=\"post-46151-_heading=h.1t3h5sf\"><\/a>Prepare the Server for Upgrade<\/h2>\n<p><a id=\"post-46151-_heading=h.4d34og8\"><\/a> Perform these steps to prepare the server for an upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.02:<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><a id=\"post-46151-_heading=h.2s8eyo1\"><\/a> Stop Ephesoft Transact, whether running as an application or service:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">a. To stop Ephesoft Transact when running as an application, close the Java Console in which Ephesoft Transact is running (as shown in the screenshot below) with <strong>CTRL + C<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-46436\" src=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/word-image-128.png\" width=\"842\" height=\"346\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/word-image-128.png 978w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/word-image-128-300x123.png 300w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/word-image-128-768x316.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 842px) 100vw, 842px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Figure 1. The <strong>Services (Local) <\/strong>screen displays. Depending on the size of the existing Ephesoft Transact instance, you may require up to 8GB of space.<\/li>\n<li><a id=\"post-46151-_heading=h.26in1rg\"><\/a> Log onto the Windows system and set the User Access Control (UAC) to <strong>Never notify<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> This is a temporary setting, and you must re-enable UAC after completing the installation later in this document.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">a. From the Windows <strong>Start<\/strong> menu, browse to the <strong>User Access Control<\/strong> or <strong>UAC<\/strong>. The Windows Control Panel displays the link. If the security setting is closer to the <strong>Always notify<\/strong> part of the scale, adjust this setting to the lowest position (i.e., <strong>Never notify<\/strong>) as shown in figure 4. The system prompts the user to confirm this setting.<br \/>\nc. Accept the changes.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li>Disable the IPv6 network protocol on this server. This control is available in the Windows network settings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">a. Select <strong>Control Panel<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Network<\/strong> <strong>and<\/strong> <strong>Internet<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Ethernet<\/strong>.<br \/>\nb. From the <strong>Ethernet<\/strong> screen, click <strong>Change adapter options<\/strong>. Close the <strong>Windows Control Panel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li>If you previously installed Ephesoft Transact using a Windows service account and you want to use that same account after the upgrade, ensure you know that account&#8217;s credentials (username and password) before starting the upgrade procedure.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You are now ready to obtain and launch the Install Wizard.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a id=\"post-46151-_heading=h.1ksv4uv\"><\/a>Obtain and Launch the Install Wizard Package<\/h2>\n<p>Perform these steps to download and launch the Ephesoft Transact Install Wizard:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/products\/transact\/download\/\">Downloads<\/a> page for information on how to obtain the Ephesoft Transact installer.<\/li>\n<li>Download the Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.02 Install Wizard as instructed by Ephesoft. This is a zipped file with the following filename: <strong>Ephesoft_Transact_2020.1.02_Windows.zip<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Extract all contents of the zip file to a temporary location.
