The following details the improvements and fixes available in this update.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"post-47378-_dwsvwt72l8g\"><\/a>Availability<\/h3>\n<p>Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.03 is available as a full installer and can be installed directly in the case of a fresh installation. For a direct upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.03, your system must be running 2020.1 or above. If your system is running a release prior to 2020.1, you will need to perform an intermediate upgrade before upgrading to 2020.1.03.<\/p>\n<p>To obtain the 2020.1.03 Service Pack, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.force.com\/s\/download\">Customer Support Portal<\/a>. Contact <a href=\"mailto:tickets@ephesoft.com\">Ephesoft Support<\/a> for credentials.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"post-47378-_qyr0r5ivk4rj\"><\/a>Installation<\/h2>\n<p>Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.03 is available on both Windows and Linux. Refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/products\/trasact\/install-and-upgrade\/transact-2020-1-03\/\">Transact 2020.1.03<\/a> for links to the installation guides.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"post-47378-_dtco2whadjlu\"><\/a>Licensing<\/h2>\n<p>License requests can be submitted through the <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.force.com\/s\/licenses\">Licenses<\/a> page on the Customer Support Portal.<\/p>\n<p>You will need a new license in the following scenarios:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are upgrading from a version prior to 4.5.0.0, you will need a new license for 2020.1.03.<\/li>\n<li>If you would like to purchase the ID extraction plugin, you will need a new license for ID extraction. Please contact your Sales Representative and ask for \u201cQuickscreen\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/install-and-upgrade\/system-requirements\/licensing\/\">Licensing Requirements<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"post-47378-_5j9o818ztqwn\"><\/a>Feature Enhancements<\/h2>\n<p>The following enhancements were added to the existing Ephesoft Transact features below.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"post-47378-_dyfe4f85rhe1\"><\/a>Logging Enhancements<\/h3>\n<p>Added additional logging in Transact which displays the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All Transact details \u2014 Logged each time the Transact server starts or restarts.<\/li>\n<li>License expiration \u2014 Logged every day starting 30 days before license expiration.<\/li>\n<li>Remaining number of images warning \u2014 Logged when you have used a certain percentage of your allotted images. The default threshold is 90% but can be configured in the <strong>dcma-core.properties <\/strong>file.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information on these enhancements, refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/products\/transact\/configurations\/logging\/license-logging\/\">License Logging<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"post-47378-_d7ru8noq3ef\"><\/a>Pickup Service Performance Improvements<\/h3>\n<p>This release introduces a refactored version of the pickup service mechanism that further enhances changes made in the previous release. Core improvements include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increased performance<\/li>\n<li>Reduced resource utilization for UI nodes<\/li>\n<li>Easier configuration and fewer configuration issues<\/li>\n<li>Support for flexible node-based prioritization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><a id=\"post-47378-_imzmbg2sxxpe\"><\/a>Increased Performance<\/h4>\n<p>Coordination between nodes occurs more intelligently in 2020.1.03. To accomplish this, the pickup enhancement includes:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Elimination of cron-based waits<\/li>\n<li>New event-based triggers for processing nodes<\/li>\n<li>New event-based listeners<\/li>\n<li>Addition of an intelligent distribution system for the node assigned to the PICKUP_SERVICE<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><a id=\"post-47378-_qd6sx3l7l559\"><\/a>Reduced Resource Utilization for UI Nodes<\/h4>\n<p>A new mechanism has been introduced so that UI nodes can be configured to not perform any workflow pickup execution, eliminating the associated inefficiencies.<\/p>\n<p>For information on recommended settings, refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/products\/transact\/configurations\/transact-property-file-reference-guide\/pickup-settings-4-x\/#UI-servers\">UI Servers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4><a id=\"post-47378-_q9rju2k0t8dv\"><\/a>Reduced Configuration Issues<\/h4>\n<p>You are no longer required to configure each node to take advantage of the refactored pickup mechanism. Along with the elimination of waits, the following properties are no longer needed with this change:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>application.cluster.mode<\/li>\n<li>activity.job.interval.time<\/li>\n<li>activity.thread.wait.time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><a id=\"post-47378-_qdcr2717711n\"><\/a>Support for Flexible Node-Based Prioritization<\/h4>\n<p>2020.1.03 supports flexible node-based prioritization. This allows for partial overlap between the batch instance (BI) priority.
