Complete all settings and dialogs as prompted.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"#license-and-launch\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">License and Launch Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.05<\/span><\/a><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Perform these steps to complete the upgrade for Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.05.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h2 id=\"prerequisites\"><b>Prerequisites<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Perform these steps for a successful software upgrade and startup:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Determine if you need to perform a single-server or multi-server upgrade.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Important:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Steps unique to a multi-server environment upgrade are identified where applicable throughout this document. Follow the instructions and adjust as necessary if upgrading on a multi-server environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Verify that the existing installation of Ephesoft Transact is supported for direct upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.05.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If the system is currently running Ephesoft Transact version 2020.1.x, your system is supported for direct upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.05.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If the system is currently running Ephesoft Transact 2020.1 and you are using the Cloud HyperExtender plugin, you will need to install the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/products\/transact\/install-and-upgrade\/2020-1\/windows-upgrade-guide\/#service-pack-installation\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2020.1.01 service pack<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> before you can upgrade to 2020.1.05.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If the system is currently running a release prior to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1, you will need to upgrade to version 2020.1 before upgrading to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.05.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Important:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> If you are required to perform an intermediate upgrade, then you must successfully start Ephesoft Transact 2020.1 before upgrading to version 2020.1.05 or the upgrade process will fail<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Refer to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/install-and-upgrade\/system-requirements\/platform-configurations-and-third-party-integrations\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Platform Configurations and Third-Party Integrations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and verify that Ephesoft Transact 2020.1 is supported on your operating system. Version 2020.1 has the same requirements as 2020.1.05.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><a id=\"post-48669-_3dy6vkm\"><\/a>User Instructions<\/h2>\n<h3><a id=\"post-48669-_1t3h5sf\"><\/a>Prepare the Server for Upgrade<\/h3>\n<p><a id=\"post-48669-_4d34og8\"><\/a> Perform these steps to prepare the server for an upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.05:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a id=\"post-46151-_heading=h.2s8eyo1\"><\/a> Stop Ephesoft Transact, whether running as an application or service:\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>To stop Ephesoft Transact when running as an application, close the Java Console in which Ephesoft Transact is running (as shown in the screenshot below) with <strong>CTRL + C<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"978\" height=\"402\" class=\"wp-image-48670\" src=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/word-image-43.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/word-image-43.png 978w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/word-image-43-300x123.png 300w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/word-image-43-768x316.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 978px) 100vw, 978px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Figure 1. Ephesoft Transact Command Prompt<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol start=\"2\" type=\"a\">\n<li>Open the <strong>Windows Task<\/strong> <strong>Manager<\/strong> and click <strong>End Task<\/strong> to terminate the following processes, if they were not terminated:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>soffice.exe<\/li>\n<li>soffice.bin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol start=\"3\" type=\"a\">\n<li><a id=\"post-46151-_heading=h.17dp8vu\"><\/a>\u00a0To stop Ephesoft Transact when running as a service, perform these steps:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>In the Windows Control Panel, browse to <strong>Services | Desktop App<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click the <strong>Services<\/strong> utility and run as administrator. The <strong>Services (Local) <\/strong>screen displays. The service stops.<\/li>\n<li>Close the Windows Service Control utility.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Close all open files inside the existing Ephesoft installation directory.<\/li>\n<li><a id=\"post-46151-_heading=h.3rdcrjn\"><\/a> Ensure that the target Windows installation drive has enough space for the extraction of the installer setup file and the backup files that the installer will create. Depending on the size of the existing Ephesoft Transact instance, you may require up to 8GB of space.<\/li>\n<li><a id=\"post-46151-_heading=h.26in1rg\"><\/a> Log onto the Windows system and set the User Access Control (UAC) to <strong>Never notify<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> This is a temporary setting, and you must re-enable UAC after completing the installation later in this document.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>From the Windows <strong>Start<\/strong> menu, browse to the <strong>User Access Control<\/strong> or <strong>UAC<\/strong>. The Windows Control Panel displays the link. The system prompts the user to confirm this setting.<\/li>\n<li>Accept the changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>If you previously installed Ephesoft Transact using a Windows service account and you want to use that same account after the upgrade, ensure you know that account&#8217;s credentials (username and password) before starting the upgrade procedure.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You are now ready to obtain and launch the Install Wizard.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"post-48669-_1ksv4uv\"><\/a>Obtain and Launch the Install Wizard Package<\/h2>\n<p>Perform these steps to download and launch the Ephesoft Transact Install Wizard:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/products\/transact\/download\/\">Downloads<\/a> page for information on how to obtain the Ephesoft Transact installer.<\/li>\n<li>Download the Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.05 Install Wizard as instructed by Ephesoft. This is a zipped file with the following filename: <strong>Ephesoft_Transact_2020.1.05_Windows.zip<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Extract all contents of the zip file to a temporary location. You will need approximately 8GB of disk space for the upgrade. If prompted, it is not necessary to disable IPv6 nor is it necessary to preemptively disable IPv6 as installation will complete with IPv6 enabled. If a warning displays in the above screen, click <strong>Details<\/strong> for more information.<\/p>\n<p>The following is an example of this type of message:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJAVA_HOME environment variable is already defined. This will get modified during Transact installation. If you do not want this to happen, please cancel the installation.\u201d<\/p>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li>Click <strong>Next<\/strong> when the prerequisites check is acceptable. Continue to <a href=\"#post-48669-_3j2qqm3\">.NET Framework 4.5.2 Installation<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><a id=\"post-48669-_3j2qqm3\"><\/a>.NET Framework 4.5.2 Installation<\/h4>\n<p>Ephesoft Transact performs a check to verify that the .NET Framework 4.5.2 is installed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"495\" height=\"387\" class=\"wp-image-48680\" src=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/word-image-53.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/word-image-53.png 495w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/word-image-53-300x235.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 495px) 100vw, 495px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Figure 16. .NET Framework 4.5.2 Installation <\/em><\/p>\n<p>The following factors enable or disable the <strong>Next<\/strong> button:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Next <\/strong>button is enabled if the .NET Framework 4.5.2 is installed on the system.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Next <\/strong>button is disabled if the .NET Framework 4.5.2 is not installed on the system.
