For detailed steps, refer to the following articles:\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/products\/transact\/features-and-functions\/administrator\/batch-class-management\/add-new-document\/\">Add New Document Type<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/products\/transact\/features-and-functions\/administrator\/batch-class-management\/add-new-index-field\/\">Add New Index Field<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>You will need to add the ADVANCED_BARCODE_READER plugin to the <strong>Page Process<\/strong> module for your batch class.<\/li>\n<li>If you are performing barcode extraction, you will need to add the ADVANCED_BARCODE_EXTRACTION plugin to the <strong>Extraction <\/strong>module for your batch class.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You will need to set the Document Assembler plugin to Barcode classification or Automatic classification. See <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/products\/transact\/features-and-functions\/administrator\/moduleplugin-configuration\/document-assembly-module\/document-assembler-plugin-2\/\">Document Assembler Plugin<\/a> for more information.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>For Barcode classification to work, you will also need to configure a Document Type with the exact name that the barcode value will output.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> For more information on managing plugins, refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/features-and-functions\/administrator\/moduleplugin-configuration\/\">Module and Plugin Configuration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Note: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To use the RecoStar barcode method, RECOSTAR_HOCR Plugin must be added to the workflow.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"post-49211-_muog4yqt63lq\"><\/a>Overview<\/h2>\n<p>The advanced barcode plugins use the advanced barcode engine, which allows you to have more control over the classification and extraction results in certain scenarios.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We recommend using<\/span> the advanced barcode plugins over the standard barcode plugins is recommended if your documents have multiple barcodes on a single page.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"post-49211-_5k2wz7tks8rl\"><\/a>Configure Advanced Barcode Reader Plugin<\/h2>\n<p>This section provides information on how to configure the ADVANCED_BARCODE_READER plugin. If Transact can not classify the document using the first Barcode Method that is listed, then Transact will proceed down the list until extraction is successful. Once a barcode is extracted, other engines with lower priorities are ignored.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: You can delete a barcode engine by right-clicking the name and selecting <strong>Delete<\/strong>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Use All barcode Tools<\/td>\n<td>\n<ul>\n<li>ON<\/li>\n<li>OFF<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<td>This switch enables or disables using all barcode methods.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr bgcolor=\"#d9e2f3\">\n<td>Barcode Region<\/td>\n<td>\n<ul>\n<li>Barcode Type<\/li>\n<li>Whole Page<\/li>\n<li>Top Left<\/li>\n<li>Top Right<\/li>\n<li>Bottom Left<\/li>\n<li>Bottom Right<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<td>Use this property to specify the zone on the page from which the barcode should be located.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: Performance and accuracy will increase if a smaller region is specified.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2020<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This option is available for 2020.1.06 and above.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: In Ephesoft Transact 2019.1 and below, using the RecoStar engine has a limitation in which the RecoStar plugin thread only allows the usage of one license. The limitation of one thread applies when there is a license for up to 8 cores, which may cause slow processing when using the Page Process module.
