As a workaround, you will need to re-install the AI Table Rule Builder after completing the upgrade.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The process of upgrading to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.06 follows this general sequence of tasks. Before proceeding, review the 2020.1.06 Release Notes.<\/p>\n<table>\n<thead>\n<tr style=\"color: #ffffff;background-color: #1f3864\">\n<th>Installation Task<\/th>\n<th>General Scope of Activity<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<tr bgcolor=\"#d9e2f3\">\n<th><a href=\"#post-49628-_2et92p0\">Prerequisites<\/a><\/th>\n<th>Prepare for upgrade by gathering the required resources and verifying that the environment and databases are supported.<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th><a href=\"#post-49628-_1t3h5sf\">Prepare the Server for Upgrade<\/a><\/th>\n<th>Perform these steps to prepare the server for the upgrade Install Wizard.<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<tr bgcolor=\"#d9e2f3\">\n<th><a href=\"#post-49628-_1ksv4uv\">Obtain and Launch the Install Wizard Package<\/a><\/th>\n<th>Launch the 2020.1.06 Install Wizard with the Windows Command Prompt. Complete all settings and dialogs as prompted.<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th><a href=\"#post-49628-_49x2ik5\">License and Launch Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.06<\/a><\/th>\n<th>Perform these steps to complete the upgrade for Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.06.<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<\/table>\n<h2><a id=\"post-49628-_2et92p0\"><\/a>Prerequisites<\/h2>\n<p><a id=\"post-49628-_tyjcwt\"><\/a> Perform these steps for a successful software upgrade and startup:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Determine if you need to perform a single-server or multi-server upgrade.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> Steps unique to a multi-server environment upgrade are identified where applicable throughout this document. Follow the instructions and adjust as necessary if upgrading on a multi-server environment.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Verify that the existing installation of Ephesoft Transact is supported for direct upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.06.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If the system is currently running Ephesoft Transact version 2020.1.x, your system is supported for direct upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.06.\n<ul>\n<li>If the system is currently running Ephesoft Transact 2020.1 and you are using the Cloud HyperExtender plugin, you will need to install the <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/products\/transact\/install-and-upgrade\/2020-1\/windows-upgrade-guide\/#service-pack-installation\">2020.1.01 service pack<\/a> before you can upgrade to 2020.1.06.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If the system is currently running a release prior to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1, you will need to upgrade to version 2020.1 before upgrading to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.06.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> If you are required to perform an intermediate upgrade, then you must successfully start Ephesoft Transact 2020.1 before upgrading to version 2020.1.06 or the upgrade process will fail.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/install-and-upgrade\/system-requirements\/platform-configurations-and-third-party-integrations\/\">Platform Configurations and Third-Party Integrations<\/a> and verify that Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.06 is supported on your operating system.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><a id=\"post-49628-_3dy6vkm\"><\/a>User Instructions<\/h2>\n<h3><a id=\"post-49628-_1t3h5sf\"><\/a>Prepare the Server for Upgrade<\/h3>\n<p><a id=\"post-49628-_4d34og8\"><\/a> Perform these steps to prepare the server for an upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.06:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a id=\"post-49628-_2s8eyo1\"><\/a> Stop Ephesoft Transact, whether running as an application or service:\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>To stop Ephesoft Transact when running as an application, close the Java Console in which Ephesoft Transact is running (as shown in the screenshot below) with <strong>CTRL+C<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"978\" height=\"402\" class=\"wp-image-49629\" src=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/word-image.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/word-image.png 978w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/word-image-300x123.png 300w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/word-image-768x316.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 978px) 100vw, 978px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Figure 1. The <strong>Services (Local) <\/strong>screen displays. The service stops.<\/li>\n<li>Close the Windows Service Control utility.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Close all open files inside the existing Ephesoft installation directory.<\/li>\n<li><a id=\"post-49628-_3rdcrjn\"><\/a> Ensure that the target Windows installation drive has enough space for extraction of the installer setup file and the backup files that the installer will create. Depending on the size of the existing Ephesoft Transact instance, you may require 10GB of space for the installation.<\/li>\n<li><a id=\"post-49628-_26in1rg\"><\/a> Log onto the Windows system and set the User Access Control (UAC) to <strong>Never notify<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> This is a temporary setting, and you must re-enable UAC after completing the installation later in this document.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>From the Windows <strong>Start<\/strong> menu, browse to the <strong>User Access Control<\/strong> or <strong>UAC<\/strong>. The Windows Control Panel displays the link. The system prompts the user to confirm this setting.<\/li>\n<li>Accept the changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>If you previously installed Ephesoft Transact using a Windows service account and you want to use that same account after the upgrade, ensure you know that account&#8217;s credentials (username and password) before starting the upgrade procedure.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You are now ready to obtain and launch the Install Wizard.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"post-49628-_1ksv4uv\"><\/a>Obtain and Launch the Install Wizard Package<\/h3>\n<p>Perform these steps to download and launch the Ephesoft Transact Install Wizard:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/products\/transact\/download\/\">Downloads<\/a> page for information on how to obtain the Ephesoft Transact installer.<\/li>\n<li>Download the Ephesoft Transact 2020.1.06 Install Wizard as instructed by Ephesoft. This is a zipped file with the following filename: <strong>Ephesoft_Transact_2020.1.06_Windows.zip<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Extract all contents of the zip file to a temporary location. If prompted, it is not necessary to disable IPv6 nor is it necessary to preemptively disable IPv6 as installation will complete with IPv6 enabled.<\/p>\n<p>The following is an example of this type of message:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJAVA_HOME environment variable is already defined. This will get modified during Transact installation. If you do not want this to happen, please cancel the installation.\u201d<\/p>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li>Click <strong>Next<\/strong> when the prerequisites check is acceptable. A<strong> Download<\/strong> button will display. Follow these steps:\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Click <strong>Download<\/strong> and go to the appropriate link.<\/li>\n<li>Download and install the .NET 4.5.2 Framework.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Once you have completed the installation of .NET 4.5.2 Framework, continue to step 12.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"10\">\n<li><a id=\"post-49628-_1y810tw\"><\/a> Click <strong>Next<\/strong>. It is recommended to use the same Windows account that was used to install your previous version of Ephesoft Transact.
