As a workaround, you will need to re-install the AI Table Rule Builder after completing the upgrade.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The process of upgrading to Ephesoft Transact 2022.1.00 follows this general sequence of tasks. Before proceeding, review the 2022.1.00 Release Notes.<\/p>\n<table>\n<thead>\n<tr style=\"color: #ffffff;background-color: #1f3864\">\n<th>Installation Task<\/th>\n<th>General Scope of Activity<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<tr bgcolor=\"#d9e2f3\">\n<th><a href=\"#post-50815-_2et92p0\">Prerequisites<\/a><\/th>\n<th>Prepare for upgrade by gathering the required resources and verifying that the environment and databases are supported.<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th><a href=\"#post-50815-_1t3h5sf\">Prepare the Server for Upgrade<\/a><\/th>\n<th>Perform these steps to prepare the server for the upgrade Install Wizard.<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<tr bgcolor=\"#d9e2f3\">\n<th><a href=\"#post-50815-_1ksv4uv\">Obtain and Launch the Install Wizard Package<\/a><\/th>\n<th>Launch the 2022.1.00 Install Wizard with the Windows Command Prompt. Complete all settings and dialogs as prompted.<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th><a href=\"#post-50815-_49x2ik5\">License and Launch Ephesoft Transact 2022.1.00<\/a><\/th>\n<th>Perform these steps to complete the upgrade for Ephesoft Transact 2022.1.00.<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<\/table>\n<h1><a id=\"post-50815-_2et92p0\"><\/a>Prerequisites<\/h1>\n<p><a id=\"post-50815-_tyjcwt\"><\/a> Perform these steps for a successful software upgrade and startup:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Determine if you need to perform a single-server or multi-server upgrade with approximately 10GB of disk space available for the upgrade.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> Steps unique to a multi-server environment upgrade are identified where applicable throughout this document. Follow the instructions and adjust as necessary if upgrading on a multi-server environment.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Verify that the existing installation of Ephesoft Transact is supported for direct upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2022.1.00.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If the system is currently running Ephesoft Transact version 2020.1.x, your system is supported for a direct upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2022.1.00.\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle\">\n<li>If the system is currently running Ephesoft Transact 2020.1 and you are using the Cloud HyperExtender plugin, you will need to install the <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/products\/transact\/install-and-upgrade\/2020-1\/windows-upgrade-guide\/#service-pack-installation\">2020.1.01 service pack<\/a> before you can upgrade to 2022.1.00.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If the system is currently running a release prior to Ephesoft Transact 2020.1, you will need to upgrade to version 2020.1 before upgrading to Ephesoft Transact 2022.1.00.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> If you are required to perform an intermediate upgrade, then you must successfully start Ephesoft Transact 2020.1 before upgrading to version 2022.1.00 or the upgrade process will fail.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/install-and-upgrade\/system-requirements\/platform-configurations-and-third-party-integrations\/\">Platform Configurations and Third-Party Integrations<\/a> and verify that Ephesoft Transact 2022.1.00 is supported on your operating system.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><a id=\"post-50815-_3dy6vkm\"><\/a>User Instructions<\/h2>\n<h3><a id=\"post-50815-_1t3h5sf\"><\/a>Prepare the Server for Upgrade<\/h3>\n<p><a id=\"post-50815-_4d34og8\"><\/a> Perform these steps to prepare the server for an upgrade to Ephesoft Transact 2022.1.00:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a id=\"post-50815-_2s8eyo1\"><\/a> Stop Ephesoft Transact, whether running as an application or service:<br \/>\na. To stop Ephesoft Transact when running as an application, close the Java Console in which Ephesoft Transact is running (as shown in the screenshot below) with <strong>CTRL + C<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"978\" height=\"402\" class=\"wp-image-50816\" src=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/word-image-86.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/word-image-86.png 978w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/word-image-86-300x123.png 300w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/word-image-86-768x316.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 978px) 100vw, 978px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Figure 1. Open the <strong>Windows Task<\/strong> <strong>Manager<\/strong> and click <strong>End Task<\/strong> to terminate the following processes, if they were not terminated:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>soffice.exe<\/li>\n<li>soffice.bin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>c. To stop Ephesoft Transact when running as a service, perform these steps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>In the Windows Control Panel, browse to <strong>Services | Desktop App<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click the <strong>Services<\/strong> utility and run as administrator. The <strong>Services (Local) <\/strong>screen displays. If the <strong>EphesoftTransact<\/strong> service is running, right-click <strong>EphesoftTransact<\/strong>, and click <strong>Stop<\/strong>. The service stops.<\/p>\n<p>e. Close the Windows Service Control utility.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Close all open files inside the existing Ephesoft installation directory.<\/li>\n<li><a id=\"post-50815-_3rdcrjn\"><\/a> Ensure that the target Windows installation drive has enough space for extraction of the installer setup file and the backup files that the installer will create. Depending on the size of the existing Ephesoft Transact instance, you may require 10GB of space for the installation.<\/li>\n<li><a id=\"post-50815-_26in1rg\"><\/a> Log onto the Windows system and set the User Access Control (UAC) to <strong>Never notify<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> This is a temporary setting, and you must re-enable UAC after completing the installation later in this document.<\/p>\n<p>a. From the Windows <strong>Start<\/strong> menu, browse to the <strong>User Access Control<\/strong> or <strong>UAC<\/strong>. The Windows Control Panel displays the link. The system prompts the user to confirm this setting.<\/p>\n<p>c. Accept the changes.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>If you previously installed Ephesoft Transact using a Windows service account and you want to use that same account after the upgrade, ensure you know that account&#8217;s credentials (username and password) before starting the upgrade procedure.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You are now ready to obtain and launch the Install Wizard.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"post-50815-_1ksv4uv\"><\/a>Obtain and Launch the Install Wizard Package<\/h3>\n<p>Perform these steps to download and launch the Ephesoft Transact Install Wizard:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/products\/transact\/download\/\">Downloads<\/a> page for information on how to obtain the Ephesoft Transact installer.<\/li>\n<li>Download the Ephesoft Transact 2022.1.00 Install Wizard as instructed by Ephesoft. This is a zipped file with the following filename: <strong>Ephesoft_Transact_2022.1.00_Windows.zip<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Extract all contents of the zip file to a temporary location. Installer Package Contents<\/em><\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>If you are logged in as the Administrator, right-click <strong>Ephesoft_2022.1.00 <\/strong>and click <strong>Install.<\/strong> Otherwise, open the Windows Command Prompt as an Administrator. Navigate to the directory where you extracted the installer zip file, then execute the <span style=\"font-family: courier\">msiexec.exe \/i Ephesoft_2022.1.00.msi<\/span> command to download the Windows installer package.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>After you launch the Windows installer package, the <strong>Ephesoft Transact 2022.1.00 Setup<\/strong> screen appears. End-User License Agreement<\/em><\/p>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li>Read the end-user license agreement to be aware of any changes, select the check box to accept the terms, and click <strong>Next <\/strong>to continue.\u00a0perform update checks, and create a backup of the existing Transact installation in the [<em>Ephesoft_Directory<\/em>]\\Back-up-full[<em>current_Transact_version<\/em>] folder.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Note: <\/strong>When upgrading and launching the installer for the first time, Windows may report the installer as <strong>Not Responding <\/strong>on the <strong>End User License Agreement <\/strong>screen. Do not cancel or kill the installation, the installer is making a backup of the existing Transact environment in the [<em>Ephesoft_Directory<\/em>]\\Back-up-full[current_Transact_version] folder and performing upgrade checks. If a warning displays in the above screen, click <strong>Details<\/strong> for more information.<\/p>\n<p>The following is an example of this type of message:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJAVA_HOME environment variable is already defined. This will get modified during Transact installation. If you do not want this to happen, please cancel the installation.\u201d<\/p>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li>Click <strong>Next<\/strong> when the prerequisites check is acceptable. Continue to <a href=\"#post-50815-_3j2qqm3\">.NET Framework 4.5.2 Installation<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><a id=\"post-50815-_3j2qqm3\"><\/a>.NET Framework 4.5.2 Installation<\/h3>\n<p>Ephesoft Transact performs a check to verify that the .NET Framework 4.5.2 is installed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"498\" height=\"387\" class=\"wp-image-50826\" src=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/word-image-96.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/word-image-96.png 498w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/word-image-96-300x233.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 498px) 100vw, 498px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Figure 16. .NET Framework 4.5.2 Installation <\/em><\/p>\n<p>The following factors enable or disable the <strong>Next<\/strong> button:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Next <\/strong>button is enabled if the .NET Framework 4.5.2 is installed on the system.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Next <\/strong>button is disabled if the .NET Framework 4.5.2 is not installed on the system. A<strong> Download<\/strong> button will display. Follow these steps:<br \/>\na. Click <strong>Download<\/strong> and go to the appropriate link.<br \/>\nb. Download and install the .NET 4.5.2 Framework.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Once you have completed the installation of .NET 4.5.2 Framework, continue to step 12.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Click <strong>Next<\/strong>. Continue to <strong>Define Service Credentials<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4><a id=\"post-50815-_2xcytpi\"><\/a>Define Service Credentials<\/h4>\n<p>If you are running the Ephesoft Transact Server as a Windows service, the Install Wizard prompts you to choose which service account to use. It is recommended to use the same Windows account that was used to install your previous version of Ephesoft Transact. Ephesoft recommends configuring SharedFolders on a network location for future growth and scalability.
