{"id":9017,"date":"2016-03-14T12:28:21","date_gmt":"2016-03-14T12:28:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/?p=9017"},"modified":"2020-05-19T12:24:21","modified_gmt":"2020-05-19T19:24:21","slug":"ldapad-password-encryption","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/products\/transact\/configurations\/security-configuration\/ldapad-password-encryption\/","title":{"rendered":"LDAP\/AD Password Encryption"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Follow the steps below to enable LDAP\/AD password encryption in Ephesoft Transact.<\/p>\n<p>Note the following files will require changes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>server.xml\u00a0<\/strong>located at <strong>Ephesoft\\JavaAppServer\\conf\\<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>user-connectivity.properties<\/strong> located at <strong>\\Ephesoft\\Application\\WEB-INF\\classes\\META-INF\\dcma-user-connectivity <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>dcma-ftp.properties <\/strong>located at<strong> \\Ephesoft\\Application\\WEB-INF\\classes\\META-INF\\dcma-ftp<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Run <strong>encryptor.bat<\/strong> located at the following: <strong>{Ephesoft-Installation-Directory}\\Application\\native\\encryption\\Encryptor.bat<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Enter the password string that needs to be encrypted.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1030\" height=\"560\" class=\"wp-image-35872\" src=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/word-image.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/word-image.png 1030w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/word-image-300x163.png 300w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/word-image-1024x557.png 1024w, https:\/\/ephesoft.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/word-image-768x418.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1030px) 100vw, 1030px\" \/><\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Click <strong>Enter<\/strong> to return the encrypted password.<\/li>\n<li>Set the <strong>{Ephesoft-application}\\WEB-INF\\classes\\META-INF\\dcma-encryption\\dcma-encryption.properties<\/strong> to <strong>password.use_encryption=true<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Change the <strong>className <\/strong>attribute in the following <strong>&lt;Realm className=\u201dorg.apache.catalina.realm.JNDIRealm\u201c\/&gt;<\/strong> to <strong>&lt;Realm className=\u201dcom.ephesoft.realm.EphesoftRealm\u201c\/&gt; <\/strong>in the <strong>server.xml <\/strong>file.<\/li>\n<li>Enter an encrypted password for the\u00a0<strong>connectionPassword\u00a0<\/strong>attribute in the\u00a0<strong>&lt;Realm \u2026 &gt;<\/strong>\u00a0tag in the <strong>server.xml<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Example: &lt;Realm className=\u201dcom.ephesoft.realm.EphesoftRealm\u201d connectionPassword\u00a0= \u201cmzoanUU1UD0rc1PvexuAKw==\u201d\/&gt;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Turn on the\u00a0<strong>password.use_encryption\u00a0<\/strong>property present in the\u00a0<strong>dcma-encyption.properties\u00a0<\/strong>located at<br \/>\n<strong>Ephesoft\\Application\\WEB-INF\\classes\\META-INF\\dcma-encryption.password.use_encryption=true<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Use an encrypted password for the\u00a0<strong>user.connectivity_password\u00a0<\/strong>property in the\u00a0<strong>dcma-userconnectivity.properties.user.connectivity_password=\u201dmzoanUU1UD0rc1PvexuAKw==\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Enter <strong>&lt;!\u2013<\/strong> before and <strong>\u2013&gt; <\/strong>after the following line: <strong>&lt;Realm className=\u201dorg.apache.catalina.realm.UserDatabaseRealm\u201d resourceName=\u201dUserDatabase\u201d\/&gt;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Note: <\/strong>Do not comment out the <strong>&lt;\/Realm&gt;<\/strong> on the next line.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"10\">\n<li>Encrypt the username and password in the following file: <strong>\\Ephesoft\\Application\\WEB-INF\\classes\\META-INF\\dcma-ftp<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Restart Ephesoft Transact service.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> The encryption algorithm and cipher strength used by <strong>encryptor.bat<\/strong> from Ephesoft Transact is PBEWithMD5AndDES (56 bits).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"parent":22092,"menu_order":5,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","doc_tag":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v19.0 (Yoast SEO v22.1) - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>LDAP\/AD Password Encryption | Ephesoft Docs<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"noindex, follow\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_US\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"LDAP\/AD Password Encryption\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"Follow the steps below to enable LDAP\/AD password encryption in Ephesoft Transact.
