Issue<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

One of the following errors occurs:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Error thumbs {com.ephesoft.dcma.monitor.service.foldermonitorserviceimpll] file extension not valid.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Exception while deleting folder at path: <Drop Folder Path>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    This occurs due to hidden files (thumbs.db) in drop folders.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Workaround<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

    Perform one of the following to disable the thumbs.db extension.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n

    Option 1<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

    Disable thumbs.db from the Local Group Policy Editor<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Note<\/strong>: You will need administrator permissions.<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Press Win + R <\/strong>or enter \u201crun\u201d in the Windows search bar.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Type \u201cgpedit.msc\u201d in the Run <\/strong>window.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Click OK<\/strong>. The Local Group Policy Editor <\/strong>will open.<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. In the navigation tree on the left, go to User Configuration <\/strong>> Administrative Templates <\/strong>> Windows Components <\/strong>> File Explorer<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Note<\/strong>: In previous versions of Windows, File Explorer <\/strong>is named Windows Explorer.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      1. In the right-hand panel, locate the entry \u201cTurn off the caching of thumbnails in hidden thumbs.db files\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n
      2. Double-click the entry to open the settings panel.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        1. Select Enabled<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
        2. Click OK<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Option 2<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

          Disable thumbs.db from Folder Options. Select your Windows version and follow the steps listed.<\/span><\/p>\n

          Windows 10<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

            \n
          1. Select the folder icon to open File Explorer<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
          2. In the top panel, select View <\/strong>> Options<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            1. This will open the Folder Options <\/strong>window. Select the View <\/strong>tab.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              1. In the Advanced settings <\/strong>section, check the option \u201cAlways show icons, never thumbnails\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n
              2. Click OK<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                Windows 7 or 8<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

                1. Select the folder icon to open File Explorer<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
                2. In the top panel, go to Organize <\/strong>> Folder and search options<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
                3. This will open the Folder Options <\/strong>window. Select the View <\/strong>tab.<\/span><\/li>\n
                4. In the Advanced settings <\/strong>section, check the option \u201cAlways show icons, never thumbnails\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n
