By default, new batch instances start with \u201cBI1\u201d and cycle numerically and alphabetically.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\">The steps for this article vary based on your selected database:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333399\"><a style=\"color: #333399\" href=\"#post-2002-_oij2h357y1w4\">MySQL or MariaDB<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333399\"><a style=\"color: #333399\" href=\"#post-2002-_8ry9e6ocup29\">MSSQL<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #333333\"><a id=\"post-2002-_oij2h357y1w4\" style=\"color: #333333\"><\/a>MySQL or MariaDB<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\">Use the following query to set the naming value.<\/span><\/p>\n<pre><span style=\"color: #333333\">ALTER TABLE batch_instance AUTO_INCREMENT = 20481<\/span><\/pre>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: The batch instance identifier is in hexadecimal format, but the above query uses decimal format. As such you will need to enter the seed in decimal. In the example above, the seed is changed to 20481, which will set the next batch instance number to be BI5001 (5001 hexadecimal = 20481 decimal).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #333333\"><a id=\"post-2002-_8ry9e6ocup29\" style=\"color: #333333\"><\/a>MSSQL<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\">Use the following query to set the naming value.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: You must be the system administrator (sa) in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to run this query.<\/span><\/p>\n<pre><span style=\"color: #333333\">DBCC CHECKIDENT (\"batch_instance\", RESEED, 20481);<\/span><\/pre>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: The batch instance identifier is in hexadecimal format, but the above query uses decimal format.
