<\/a>Issue<\/span><\/h2>\n

If you use custom scripts or other automated processes to retrieve logs through the web server service, you may experience issues due to security enhancements introduced in 2020.1.03.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a>Root Cause<\/span><\/h2>\n

In 2020.1.03 and above, you must now log in before accessing log files within the Application <\/strong>folder. This includes files such as the dcma-all.log <\/strong>and log4j.xml<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ephesoft restricted access to these logs as a security enhancement, however, if required by your business process, you can revert this change.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a>How to Revert the Changes<\/span><\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Open the web.xml <\/strong>file, located at [Ephesoft_Directory<\/em>]\\Application\\WEB-INF.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Locate the following 12 lines:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    <<\/span>security-constraint><\/span><\/span>\r\n  <<\/span>web-resource-collection><\/span><\/span>\r\n    <<\/span>web-resource-name><\/span><\/span>Restrict Logging<\/<\/span>web-resource-name><\/span><\/span>\r\n    <<\/span>url-pattern><\/span><\/span>\/logs\/*<\/<\/span>url-pattern><\/span><\/span>\r\n    <<\/span>url-pattern><\/span><\/span>\/log4j.xml<\/<\/span>url-pattern><\/span><\/span>\r\n    <<\/span>http-method><\/span><\/span>GET<\/<\/span>http-method><\/span><\/span>\r\n    <<\/span>http-method><\/span><\/span>POST<\/<\/span>http-method><\/span><\/span>\r\n  <\/<\/span>web-resource-collection><\/span><\/span>\r\n  <<\/span>auth-constraint><\/span><\/span>\r\n    <<\/span>role-name><\/span><\/span>*<\/<\/span>role-name><\/span><\/span>\r\n  <\/<\/span>auth-constraint><\/span><\/span>\r\n<\/<\/span>security-constraint><\/span><\/span><\/code><\/span><\/pre>\n
      \n
    1. Remove the above lines.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Save and close the web.xml <\/strong>file.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Restart Ephesoft Transact.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
