License Validation

Overview

In case of invalid license Ephesoft system doesn’t allow the user to login into the application throwing an error message that “Either some internal error has occurred at Ephesoft License server side or the License Server is down.Please contact Administrator to fix this problem”.

Ephesoft stops the execution of batch processing if an invalid license is being installed on the system or license has been expired.

Troubleshooting

Following are few common error messages that might be seen while validation Ephesoft License:

 

Error message  –   Possible root cause

Batches stuck at NEW state. – There may be either an invalid Ephesoft license installed or expired license on system.
Unable to verify license. Either license is not installed or license server is down. – There may be an invalid Ephesoft license or no license on the system.

 

Causes and Resolution:

  1. Change in MAC address : Please verify the server MAC address and compare it with MAC address in EphesoftDependencieslicensingdetails.properties. If its different then request new license by sending details.properties to licenses@ephesoft.com. Please do mention number of cores on your server.
  2. Missing permissions in registry : Open regedit and set the User permissions to Full Control for the following Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREJavaSoftPrefscomephesoft .
  3. Missing entries in the DB tables (i.e. missing default batch classes information in the Ephesoft database , batch_class table) : Re-create databases click here. This applies only if its a fresh/new install.
